In keeping with our systemic practice ethos, our team will strongly emphasise, where approved to maintain family ties and key relationships. We therefore promote contact at every given opportunity and work towards promoting healthy relationships that will be of benefit to the young person when they leave our provision either to return home or to progress into semi-independence. Our primary aim where possible is to keep local children close to home, providing our risk assessments and matching endorse the rationale for this decision.
PACE and Secure Base Model
Our Staff are trained using the principles of Playfulness Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy (PACE). Our training is underpinned by understanding the impact of trauma upon early childhood development. We recognise that trauma has the capacity to arrest child development, stagnating the natural and expected stages of development.
Our children will have the opportunity to develop trusting relationships with a consistent staff team, benefiting from the structure offered by responsive ‘attachment figures’, children develop the confidence and resilience to experience ‘family’.
Munster Avenue House will be the Secure Base from which our children gain the ability to explore their world and the relationships that they value.
